Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Streak Bubble app ("Streak Bubble," "we," "us") collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It applies to the Streak Bubble mobile and companion watch apps and this website.
Streak Bubble is developed by Afzaal Ahmad Zeeshan, an individual developer, referred to in this policy as "the Developer."
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address, a username, and (optionally) a display name and profile photo. You may sign up with an email/password, or with Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple, in which case we receive the basic profile information (name, email, unique identifier) those providers share with us.
1.2 Goal and streak data
The goals you create, their category, frequency, completion history, notes, and streak counts are stored so the app can function and sync across your devices.
1.3 Health and fitness data
If you turn on Health Auto-Tracking, Streak Bubble reads specific health and fitness data — such as step count, workouts/exercise sessions, active energy, sleep, and similar activity metrics — from Apple HealthKit (iOS) or Google Health Connect (Android), only for the categories you choose to auto-track. See Section 2 below for full detail on how this data is used.
1.4 Streak Album content
Photos and videos you upload to your Streak Album are stored in our cloud storage. Each item is shared only with the audience you select (private, friends, or public/Discover).
1.5 Social data
Friend connections, accountability-buddy assignments, buddy-stake approvals, streak challenges, and any block or report you submit against another user.
1.6 Device and diagnostic data
We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and basic diagnostic data (device model, OS version, app version) to help us fix bugs. We use push notification tokens to deliver reminders and social notifications you've enabled.
1.7 Advertising data
Free-tier users may be shown ads served through Google AdMob, which can use the advertising identifier and related interaction data to serve and measure ads. Streak Bubble Plus subscribers do not see ads.
1.8 Purchase data
Subscriptions (Streak Bubble Plus) and one-time purchases are processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see or store your payment card details — we only receive a purchase status/receipt to unlock premium features.
2. How We Use Health Data
Health and fitness data is one of the most sensitive categories of information the app can access, so we want to be explicit about it:
- Health data is only accessed if you explicitly enable Health Auto-Tracking and grant permission through the operating system's own Health permission dialog (Apple Health or Google Health Connect). You choose exactly which data types to share.
- It is used solely to automatically detect when a matching goal (e.g., "10,000 steps," "30-minute workout") has been met, so we can mark it complete on your behalf.
- We do not sell health data, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising or marketing purposes, under any circumstances.
- Health data is stored only as needed to support the auto-tracking feature and your completion history within the app.
- You can revoke Streak Bubble's access at any time from the Health Auto-Tracking toggle in the app, or directly in the iOS Health app / Android Health Connect settings. Revoking access simply turns off auto-completion for the affected goals.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account and sync your data across devices (including the Wear OS/watchOS companion apps)
- To operate core features: goals, streaks, the Streak Album, friends, and accountability buddies
- To send reminders and notifications you've enabled
- To auto-complete goals using health data, as described in Section 2
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Community Guidelines
- To diagnose crashes and improve app stability and performance
- To process subscriptions and entitlements
- To show ads to free-tier users (see Section 1.7)
4. Who We Share Data With
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these circumstances:
- Service providers: Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Crashlytics) hosts and processes app data on our behalf, under Google's own data processing terms.
- Advertising: Google AdMob, for ad-supported free-tier users (see Section 1.7). Health data is never shared for this purpose.
- Other users: Information you choose to make visible — your profile, friend activity, Streak Album items marked "Friends" or "Public," and Discover feed content — is visible to the corresponding audience you select.
- Legal reasons: If required to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights, or protect the safety of users or the public.
5. Public and Social Visibility
Streak Bubble is a social app. Content you mark as "Public" appears in the Discover feed and is visible to any user of the app. Content marked "Friends" is visible to your accepted friend connections. Content marked "Private" is visible only to you (and, where you've enabled buddy approval, your assigned accountability buddy). You control the visibility of each Streak Album item and can change it at any time.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and app data for as long as your account is active, so the app can function. If you delete your account, associated data is deleted as described in Section 8. Crash diagnostic data is retained by Firebase Crashlytics per Google's standard retention periods.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Access & correction: You can view and edit most of your data directly within the app (profile, goals, Streak Album, notification preferences).
- Export: You may request a copy of your personal data by contacting us (see Section 12).
- Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time — see Section 8.
- Notifications: You can manage or disable notifications per category in the app's Settings.
- Health data: You can revoke Health/Health Connect permissions at any time, as described in Section 2.
8. Account and Data Deletion
You can permanently delete your account from within the app: Profile → Settings → Delete Account. This triggers a server-side process that removes your profile, goals, streak history, friend connections, and Streak Album photos/videos from our database and cloud storage. You can also request deletion by emailing us — see full instructions on our Account Deletion page.
9. Children's Privacy
Streak Bubble is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will delete it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address in Section 12.
10. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures provided by Google Firebase, including encryption in transit, to protect your data. Access to production data is restricted to the Developer. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International Data Transfers
Your data is stored and processed on Google Cloud/Firebase infrastructure, which may process data in the United States and other countries. Google maintains appropriate safeguards for international transfers under its own compliance programs.
12. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the UK, or California, you may have additional rights over your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your data, and the right to data portability. California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion; we do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
